Maureen E. Fyke Joins Barclay Damon As Marketing and Business Development Director

June 8, 2017 "” Experienced business development and marketing strategist Maureen E. Fyke has joined Barclay Damon LLP as the law firm's new director of marketing. She will work in all 11 firm offices.

Fyke brings decades of experience leading teams in a wide range of business development, branding, and marketing activities, including advertising and integrated marketing communications, brand positioning and management, business transformation and marketing strategy, marketing research and analytics, innovation and new product/offering development, and metrics and performance management. She has spent over 15 years in consumer and customer insights focused on delivering high-value, data-driven solutions for strategic planning, opportunity identification and prioritization, product/service offering innovation, portfolio management, and marketing communications. Fyke also has deep experience in client relationship management, particularly in identifying untapped opportunities to maximize partnerships and solutions designed to drive growth in sales and profits for all key stakeholders' businesses.

Prior to joining Barclay Damon, Fyke was most recently senior manager, global consumer insights at Fisher-Price, Inc. (Mattel) in East Aurora, New York. Before that, she was an associate at Goodman & Company, a marketing consulting firm for Fortune 500 companies in New York City; senior manager, market research at Rich Products in Buffalo, New York; and account planning manager at Answerthink (A Hackett Group Company), a global intellectual property-based strategic consulting firm in New York City. She has also held senior positions in several New York City advertising agencies, managing client services and account planning for several Fortune 500 clients.

John P. Langan, Barclay Damon's managing partner, said, "We are delighted to have Maureen lead our business development and marketing initiatives and team. Her emphasis on identifying how to best meet client needs dovetails perfectly with our firm's philosophy of providing optimal representation and service as true partners to our clients, helping them meet their goals and ensure their success. I have been impressed with Maureen's ability to direct business transformation and marketing strategy with visionary, consumer-grounded thought leadership on complex issues, and I know our firm and clients will benefit greatly from her many strengths."

"I couldn't be more excited about joining Barclay Damon," Fyke noted. "From a marketing perspective, this is a unique opportunity to continue the momentum of a recently merged organization in an increasingly competitive industry that's still figuring out how to strategically maximize its use of marketing. The aspects I most love about Barclay Damon center on its approach to being a true solutions-oriented client partner, embracing change in an ever-evolving profession and industry, and being hungry to progressively grow in new and innovative ways. Taking the calculated risk to hire someone outside of the legal industry with deep experience in customer insights, business strategy, client relationship management, and data-driven performance measurement will provide Barclay Damon a unique competitive advantage in the marketplace to more optimally identify and serve its clients' needs."

While at Fisher-Price, Inc. (Mattel), Fyke's accomplishments included building an award-winning proprietary marketing research panel; creating multi-source quarterly performance scorecards for key product lines; leading consumer research for digital campaigns to measure effects on brand equity; co-creating a new product concept development training program; generating meaningfully relevant insights and analysis to inform brand positioning, annual business planning, line architecture, aesthetic identity, product features and benefits, and go-to-market strategies (e.g., retail, communications, packaging, etc.); executing innovative research to identify unmet category needs and white space opportunities; creating unique, hybrid research in the United States and the United Kingdom; and executing research in the United States and 10 other countries to optimize global brand health and identify local market opportunities for growth.

Barclay Damon LLP, listed as a "Top 250 Firm" by The National Law Journal, is a full-service, 275-attorney law firm, with offices throughout the major cities of New York State and in Toronto, Boston, Washington DC, and Newark.
