Barclay Damon Expands Offerings to Energy Clients With Addition of Two Senior Property Tax Professionals

October 30, 2023—Barclay Damon announces Rob Easterly, senior property tax consultant, and Nick Lammayot, senior property tax specialist, have joined the firm. Easterly and Lammayot are members of the firm’s Property Tax & Condemnation and Energy Practice Areas. Easterly is located in the firm’s Syracuse office, and Lammayot is based in Houston.

Easterly, a former real property manager for Brookfield Renewable Partners and other independent power producers, has rejoined the firm after a six-year hiatus. He has over 30 years of experience in the energy and utilities industry and focuses on property taxation, valuation, and mergers and acquisitions. Easterly uses his civil engineering background and former operations and project experience with energy assets to offer clients a unique perspective on the valuation of generation facilities.

Lammayot is a former senior property tax agent for Exxon Mobil Corp. Prior to his stint at Exxon, he served as a commercial property tax manager for the Harris Central Appraisal District in Houston, Texas. He has a beneficial background, having served in both assessor and corporate taxpayer roles, and is particularly skilled in optimizing tax strategies, negotiating and resolving complex industrial assessments and valuation issues, and advising on property tax matters. Lammayot has worked on matters involving operational assets and development projects, including petrochemical plants, corporate campuses, office buildings, aviation, and supercomputers, and he has extensive experience with tax abatements and incentives, property tax codes, and property tax planning.

Brenda Colella, Regulatory Practice Group leader, said, “Having Rob and Nick join the firm is directly reflective of our ever-growing national energy client base and their property tax, valuation, and compliance needs, with several of our clients having multiple portfolios of energy assets across the country.” She added, “We continue to expand our offerings to our energy clients, and recruiting professionals with the depth and breadth of experience that Rob and Nick have is a boon for our energy clients and the firm as a whole.”
