Kat works closely with clients to develop and implement domestic and global strategies to protect, scale, and commercialize their trademark and copyright assets in the marketplace. She advises clients through sophisticated domestic and global trademark portfolio management, including identifying, clearing, and securing intellectual property assets; overcoming office actions; preventing infringement; and representing clients in demand letters, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and UDRP proceedings, and takedown notices. Kat also advises clients on copyright prosecution, licensing, and infringement matters, including guidance on Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice and takedown matters.
Helping clients navigate data security and protection laws and regulations, Kat addresses issues related to data breaches, corporate transactions, and compliance matters related to new technologies and laws. She applies her experience in the health care field to guide health care clients through issues related to data security and other compliance issues.
In addition, Kat drafts and negotiates various agreements that relate to intellectual property, technology, and privacy, including coexistence agreements, license agreements, services agreements, data use agreements, privacy policies, terms of use agreements, and other commercial agreements.
