Vanria P. DeMay, Laura L. Mona and Megan E. Moran have joined Hiscock & Barclay, LLP as Associates in offices across our platform. Each took the New York State Bar exam in July 2012. DeMay resides in the firm's Rochester office and focuses her work in the areas of torts and products liability defense as well as insurance coverage and labor and employment. Mona, who concentrates on environmental, energy and regulatory issues, is located in the Albany office. Moran is working from the Buffalo office in the areas of labor and employment, commercial litigation and business law.
DeMay is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo Law School (Arthur A. Schomburg Fellow, 2012) where she served as an Editor of the Buffalo Journal of Gender, Law & Social Policy. While in law school, DeMay was a Legal Assistant at the Family Justice Center of Erie County and a Legal Clerk for the National Labor Relations Board. She was also a Summer Associate at Hiscock & Barclay for two years.
Mona is a graduate of Albany Law School of Union University (magna cum laude, 2012) where she chaired the Domenick L. Gabrielli National Family Law Competition Moot Court Board and was a member of the Journal of Science and Technology. While in law school, Mona was a Research Assistant for the New York State Public Service Commission Administrative Law Judge, Hon. Eleanor Stein. She also served as a Summer Associate at Hiscock & Barclay and was a Legal Intern with the Albany County Public Defender's Office.
Moran is a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University (magna cum laude, 2012) where she was an Associate Editor of the Cardozo Law Review and Volunteer Advocate for the School's Courtroom Advocates Project. While in law school, she was a Summer Associate at Hiscock & Barclay and a Judicial Intern for the Hon. Eric Adams, Genesee County Family Court as well as a Law Clerk at Fitapelli & Schaffer, LLP.
