Syracuse, New York – August 25, 2014 – Hiscock & Barclay, LLP, Partners Kevin R. McAuliffe and Denis J. Sullivan will be participating in a panel for companies interested in starting up or expanding their business in New York state at MedTech's Annual Conference on September 15 in Albany, New York. Moderated by McAuliffe, the panel, entitled "Supporting Your Bio/Med Start Up in NY," will discuss how businesses can maximize their chances of success by taking advantage of state tax incentive programs, including START-UP NY, and licensing and IP protection strategies.
McAuliffe is Chair of the firm's Project Development Practice Area, where he concentrates his practice on defining deal structures and procuring financing and incentives for public and private sector clients. Sullivan is the Practice Group Leader for the firm's Intellectual Property group, and focuses his practice on all aspects of intellectual property, including patent and trademark prosecution and enforcement. Sullivan will be joined on the panel by Kenneth Adams (President & CEO of NY Empire State Development), Marnie LaVigne (President & CEO of Launch NY and formerly Associate Vice President of Economic Development at the University of Buffalo), and Dr. Robert Corona (Chairman of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Upstate Medical University and formerly Vice President of Medical and Scientific Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at Welch Allyn).
The 2-day conference is being billed as the largest gathering of bioscience and medical technology industry leaders in New York State and will feature a host of expert panels on the first day.
