Barclay Damon Expands Its Leading Health Care and Litigation Practices

ALBANY, NY "” September 27, 2016 "” Barclay Damon, LLP is pleased to announce the expansion of its health care and litigation capabilities with the addition of two highly-regarded attorneys, joining the Health Care Controversies Practice Area. Brad M. Gallagher has joined the firm as Counsel, and Caitlin J. Monjeau has joined as an Associate in the firm's Albany office.

Mr. Gallagher will focus his litigation practice on the representation of hospitals, independent pharmacies and other health care organizations. He has a successful track record of helping clients and insureds obtain favorable and cost-effective results through direct negotiations, alternative dispute resolution and litigation in New York and New Jersey state and federal courts.

Previously Mr. Gallagher was a senior attorney with Landman Corsi Ballaine & Ford P.C. in New Jersey. He served as a law clerk for Judge Stuart Peim of the Superior Court of New Jersey and as an intern for Magistrate Judge George H. Lowe of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York. A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Mr. Gallagher earned his J.D. degree from Syracuse University College of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.

Ms. Monjeau brings a breadth of litigation and regulatory experience to the firm. She regularly advises clients concerning compliance with the Anti-kickback Statute, physician self-referral statutes, HIPAA and HITECH, and other governing federal and state regulations; professional licensure and discipline; managed care contracting and compliance; private-payer recoupment, and other associated issues. She is a frequent lecturer on managed care contracting, the New York Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs, the New York Compassionate Care Act, and developments in laboratory statutes and regulations.

Ms. Monjeau is a graduate of Duke University and Boston University School of Law. She was most recently with O'Connell & Aronowitz, PC and is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts.
