Barclay Damon Expands Its Immigration and Cross-Border Team With Rosanna Berardi and Jennifer Behm

March 22, 2018"ā€¯Barclay Damon announces the addition of attorneys Rosanna Berardi and Jennifer Behm from Berardi Immigration Law, who have become affiliated with the firm as special immigration counsel.

Berardi and Behm will retain their positions with Berardi Immigration Law while serving Barclay Damon's growing immigration and cross-border clients with their deep experience in the increasingly complex field of US immigration law.

John P. Langan, Barclay Damon's managing partner, said, "Rosanna and Jennifer bring more than 30 years of combined experience, building on the strengths of Barclay Damon's successful Immigration Practice Area, which is ably led by Gretchen Aylward. While working primarily from our Buffalo office, located minutes away from a major Canada-US border crossing, the team will serve immigration clients across our 11-office platform. This affiliation will bring clients throughout the firm new depth and experience in this ever-changing area of law."

Berardi noted, "We are passionate about what we do and the people we do it for, whether they are part of corporations that utilize talent from around the world or are families hoping to build lives in the United States. As immigration counsel to Barclay Damon, we will not only be able to benefit more people but will also have the opportunity to work with and support the firm's impressive, expanding cross-border practice."

Barclay Damon's presence in Canada is strong and growing, with attorneys who assist Canadian clients with the full range of US legal services they require. Barclay Damon's cross border team regularly works with Canadian legal and accounting firms and their clients on the expansion of their activities into the United States. This includes advising on forming US companies, protecting intellectual property rights, and representing them in litigation. Most recently, we assisted Canadian counsel in their client's purchase of a US-based company for approximately $25 million, handling all US aspects of the transaction, including real estate acquisition, employment, and tax matters.

Behm said, "Immigration law and cross-border matters are continuously evolving. Our affiliation with Barclay Damon means a stronger, deeper legal team working on every case, utilizing Barclay Damon's deep bench in virtually every area of law our clients may need to develop strategies that will get results as efficiently and effectively as possible."
