John Gaughan Profiled by Buffalo Law Journal

John Gaughan, partner, was recently profiled in the Buffalo Law Journal article “Gaughan Guides Defense Lawyers Group” regarding his new role as president of the Defense Trial Lawyers Association of Western New York.

“When they were growing up, attorney John Gaughan and his sister occasionally would sit in on his uncle Charles Newman’s courtroom in Wyoming County as he presided over it as judge.

“He had us sit where the jurors usually sit,” Gaughan said. “He went through his daily motions and practice. ... I just loved the fact that he had so much command and presence in the room. Everybody was quiet. ... We just sat there in awe.”

That sparked an interest in law that carried through Gaughan’s life. A partner at Barclay Damon LLP, he is this year’s president of the Defense Trial Lawyers Association of Western New York.”
