Biography

Michael is a registered patent attorney with over 25 years of experience in intellectual property litigation, bringing a unique combination of legal acumen and technical savvy to his practice. With a background in electrical engineering, Michael skillfully represents clients across a wide range of industries, including electronics, computer hardware and software, semiconductors, and manufacturing processes. He is committed to helping clients navigate the rapidly evolving IP landscape, ensuring they remain competitive and well-protected in a global market.

Michael is known for his strategic approach to complex patent litigation, having litigated cases in key jurisdictions such as the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the District of Delaware, and the Northern District of California, and before the International Trade Commission. He has also effectively represented clients in inter partes review proceedings before the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board, leveraging his deep understanding of the intricacies of patent law and technology.

Beyond his litigation work, Michael partners with clients to provide strategic counsel throughout the entire life cycle of their products and services—from early development to market maturity. He assists clients in evaluating ways to design around patents to mitigate infringement risks and develops robust strategies for invalidating patents based on prior art and technical arguments. 

Michael’s extensive experience also includes patent portfolio management and IP transactions. He advises clients on acquiring and selling patent portfolios, conducts thorough due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and negotiates complex licensing agreements to maximize the value of their IP assets. His deep understanding of both the legal and technical landscapes allows him to provide clients with innovative solutions that align with their business objectives.
