Overview

Biography

Briana focuses her practice on litigated trusts and estates matters, including contentious family disputes. She counsels clients through the complex probate process as well as with their estate administration needs, and she advises fiduciaries during the process to ensure they fulfill their duties.

Additionally, Briana provides estate planning services and drafts all estate plan documents, including wills, a wide variety of trusts, and advanced directives, such as health care proxies and powers of attorney. Briana also drafts marital agreements.

Briana has experience litigating Article 81 guardianship and estate-related proceedings before New York State supreme courts.

In addition to her legal practice, Briana serves as a guardian ad litem in Erie County.

Experience

Representative Experience

  • Successfully settled a multimillion-dollar, highly contentious estate and trust dispute between a young child dealing with the death of his father and a relative, who was in charge of his father’s estate. As a result of settling the dispute, the client received the money and properties he was entitled to.
  • Prepared and completed an estate plan for a disabled veteran.
  • Assisted a low-income beneficiary with filing for probate.
  • Representing a young adult client whose father passed away in a case against family members who are depriving her of insurance payouts.
  • Successfully settled a litigious estate wherein an alleged nonmarital child asserted a claim against the estate.
