February 23, 2021—Tim Green, a New York Times-bestselling author, former NFL defensive end, former Fox Sports broadcaster, and attorney with Barclay Damon LLP, has published his 39th book and the third book in his sports-based trilogy, Baseball Genius: Grand Slam, co-authored with Derek Jeter, available in stores and online now.
The book follows Jalen DeLuca, a travel baseball player with a genius ability to analyze and predict almost exactly what a pitcher is going to do with his next pitch. His unique talent and ability helped him save the career of Yankees star baseman, James “JY” Yager, by signaling the pitches from the stands. With JY being injured, Jalen has shifted his focus to his own game to help his team in the big tournament and prove he’s a major leaguer in the making. But Jalen’s estranged mother comes back into his life, forcing him to juggle his emotions and overcome the obstacles in his path.
In addition to being a bestselling author and retired defensive end with the Atlanta Falcons, Green is an attorney with Barclay Damon, where he has been integrally involved for the past 20 years in the development and growth of the firm's client base, particularly in energy, intellectual property, and national insurance coverage litigation. Green is recognized as a lead point of contact for the firm's largest energy and utility clients, including numerous Fortune 500 companies.
Connie Cahill, Barclay Damon’s managing partner, said, “Tim’s talent becomes more apparent with each new book he writes. Not only is he dedicated to his legal practice, but also his work as a New York Times-bestselling author. The number of children who have read his books is astounding. I’m sure his books are the reason many kids love to read and have been the source of some kids’ inspiration to become authors themselves.”
To date, Green has made more than 1,200 school visits and spoken to nearly 500,000 children. He places a strong emphasis on the importance of education, reading books, and good character. He wants kids to know that success should be measured by the quality of their personal relationships and kindness rather than fortune and fame. Since he began writing books for young-readers, Green’s sports-based series has sold over 1 million copies. Green continues to donate books to underprivileged kids, libraries, and schools across the United States.
