The Honorable John F. Quinn, Former U.S. Congressman and ECC President, Joins Barclay Damon

July 17, 2017"”Barclay Damon announces Jack Quinn has joined the law firm in the newly created role of senior advisor for public and community relations. Prior to joining Barclay Damon, Jack served as president of Erie Community College and as U.S. Congressman for New York State's 27th District, among other high-profile public- and private-sector roles.

Jack has strong ties with municipal contracting, municipal law, and federal contracting and regulation, and as a former congressman and president of a college, he is skilled in listening to constituents and understanding their unique needs. Based on his professional background and roles in government and community service, areas of particular interest for Quinn include higher education, health care, energy, veterans' issues, and the Western New York community. He has contacts throughout Western New York, in Washington DC, and throughout the country, which he will utilize in working with Barclay Damon to help extend the firm's presence, particularly in regard to the health care and higher education practices.

While focused primarily on the Western New York market, Jack will also meet with business, education, and community leaders throughout the firm's 11-office platform.

Jack's community leadership roles include serving as a director of the Buffalo Public Schools Foundation, Buffalo Arts & Technology Center, Catholic Health WNY, Read to Succeed, and the Erie Community College Foundation. Jack has also served on the executive committee for the New York Community College Association of Presidents; chaired Western New York College Connection, a group of 23 representatives from local colleges and universities; and was instrumental in Say Yes to Education Buffalo.

As president of Erie Community College, Jack oversaw more than 16,000 students, 2,000 employees, and a $111 million budget. As a U.S. Congressman for more than ten years, his committee and subcommittee assignments included House Transportation & Infrastructure, Veteran's Affairs, Benefits, and Hospital & Medical.
