Sixteen Attorneys from Hiscock & Barclay Honored by State Bar for Pro Bono Work

Syracuse, New York - February 12, 2014 - Sixteen attorneys from Hiscock & Barclay were honored as Empire State Counsel by the New York State Bar Association for their pro bono work for low-income, vulnerable and disadvantaged clients.

The honorees for 2013 are Brittany E. Aungier, Kathryn D. Cornish, Sanjeev Devabhakthuni, Zachary D. Forward, Jason C. Halpin, Jason D. Hughes, Ryan P. Keleher, Danielle E. Mettler, Laura L. Mona, Joseph A. Murphy, Thomas J. O'Connor, Anthony J. Piazza, Brian E. Whiteley, Angela C. Winfield and Arnold N. Zelman.

The Hiscock & Barclay lawyers performed 1,554 hours of pro bono work. "Pro bono service changes the lives of the men, women and children who cannot afford to hire an attorney," Bar officials said. "Pro bono service also transforms the lives of the volunteer lawyers who represent these clients."
