Linda Clark, co-leader of Barclay Damon's Health Care Controversies Team, has increased her deep involvement in the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Health Care Section by accepting an appointment to co-chair a task force and an invitation to participate on a panel at the section’s fall meeting. Both roles involve topics related to the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG).
The task force Clark co-chairs is charged with reviewing and making recommendations regarding changes to the OMIG auditing standards, protocols, and procedures. Clark noted, “This is a mammoth issue for all types of providers, and it’s very exciting to be involved in this project after so many years of wrangling on behalf of our clients with overreaching OMIG audits.”
At the Health Law Section’s 2023 fall meeting, Linda will be a panelist for “OMIG: New Regulations and Implications.” Following an overview by an OMIG representative on agency initiatives involving voluntary self-disclosure, the panel will discuss the status of efforts to improve OMIG’s auditing, self-disclosure, and related practices.
Clark has decades of experience representing health care professionals and entities in all types of civil, criminal, and administrative proceedings, hearings, and appeals before OMIG and other federal and state regulatory agencies.
In addition to Clark’s membership in NYSBA’s Health Law Section, she is a member of the Commercial & Federal Litigation Section Executive Committee and the Health Law Section Litigation Committee, which she was instrumental in creating.
