Hiscock & Barclay Taking Anti-Racism Effort Across Region

Rochester, New York - April 9, 2014 - Hiscock & Barclay, LLP is taking this month's "Stand Against Racism" effort across its entire footprint, using it as an opportunity to reinforce the firm's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

"Stand Against Racism" is a movement of the YWCA that aims to eliminate racism by raising awareness of it through events across the country. Churches, non-profits and businesses will be holding events to celebrate diversity and highlight their commitment to end racism.

Hiscock & Barclay will be hosting Jean Carroll, President of the Rochester YWCA, for a lunch program that will be videocast to the firm's ten offices across the Northeast.

"'Stand Against Racism' is part of a community-wide initiative, "Facing Race Embracing Equity," with law firms, museums, bar associations and not-for-profits all scheduling events. Hiscock & Barclay's Rochester office decided to join the community and saw the opportunity to share this important message with our colleagues in every office," said Sheila A. Gaddis, Chair of the firm's Diversity & Inclusion committee. "We want to be part of the chorus."

Hiscock & Barclay, LLP, listed as a "Top 250 Firm" by The National Law Journal, is a full-service, 210-attorney law firm, with offices throughout the major cities of New York State, as well as in Boston, Washington, Newark, N.J. and Toronto, providing comprehensive legal and business counsel to a diverse client base in 30 practice areas.
