Hiscock & Barclay Diversity Leadership Team Partners with the World of Inquiry School

The Rochester Diversity Leadership Team at Hiscock & Barclay, LLP has engaged in another year of partnering with the World of Inquiry School No. 58 (WOIS), an Expeditionary Learning institution for students in Kindergarten through grade 12 in downtown Rochester, to offer staff and attorney time and resources.

For the 2011-2012 academic year, members of the Hiscock & Barclay Rochester office collected eight boxes of personal hygiene products for the WOIS Resource Room. These boxes included items such as toothpaste, soap, and other grooming essentials to keep at the school for students who are in need of them, but do not have access to them at home.

The Hiscock Diversity Team also held an office-wide "Jeans for Charity Day" where staff members were encouraged to donate money in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans to work. This effort raised several hundred dollars, which the team used to purchased a drug store gift card to present to the WOIS Resource Room for supply replenishment.

In October, Hiscock & Barclay attorney Erica DiRenzo conducted a Cyber Bullying Workshop for the WOIS students. During the 2009-2010 academic year, the Hiscock Team donated 72 fleece jackets to the seventh grade class at WOIS for a field study trip to the Genesee River Gorge.

Hiscock & Barclay, LLP, listed as a "Top 250 Firm" by The National Law Journal, is a full-service, 200-attorney law firm, with offices throughout the major cities of New York State, as well as in Boston, Washington, D.C. and Toronto, providing comprehensive legal and business counsel to a diverse client base in 31 practice areas.
