Syracuse, New York – July 8, 2014 – Daniel P. Young has joined Empire Advocates, a subsidiary of Hiscock & Barclay, LLP, as Senior Business Advisor.
Empire Advocates offers non-legal consulting services involving governmental relations, public relations, and lobbying for clients in the energy, telecommunications, healthcare, construction, high tech manufacturing, higher education and food & beverage industries operating in New York.
At Empire Advocates, Young will focus on helping upstate New York companies grow and continue their success by providing business development and government relations consulting services.
Young comes to Empire Advocates from CenterState CEO, where he was Vice President of Engagement and Community Affairs, working closely with many of the largest companies in Central New York.
From 2007 to 2011, Young served as the Regional Representative for Governors Cuomo, Paterson and Spitzer.
Young's previous experience includes work with the Metropolitan Development Association of Central New York and the Walsh Visa Program. He was one of seven Commissioners of Education for the Syracuse City School District from 2000 to 2004.

A cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Albany, Young, a Syracuse resident, is active on a number of non-profit boards, including the Central New York Area Health Education Center, Toomey Residential Services, Literacy Coalition of Onondaga County, and Leadership Greater Syracuse.
