Syracuse, New York - January 24, 2014 - Michael R. Brower, Senior Federal Policy Director at Mosaic Federal Affairs LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hiscock & Barclay, LLP, has been named the new President and CEO of the American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE).
Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., ACORE seeks to advance renewable energy through finance, policy, technology, and market development.
Brower had served as ACORE's Interim President since last summer when Vice Admiral Dennis McGinn (USN-RET) left to become Assistant Secretary of the Navy. The move means Brower will be leaving Mosaic Federal Affairs LLC and relocating to Washington.
Brower, a former Naval officer and aviator who flew 43 carrier-based combat sorties during the first Iraqi War, has been with Mosaic since its founding in 2006.
"Leaving Mosaic Federal Affairs and the Hiscock & Barclay family is bittersweet. Naturally, I am excited to be back in the nation's capital working for ACORE's extensive business-based membership, educating and convening national, regional and international leaders and decision-makers on important energy and renewable energy policy matters. But equally I am going to miss Central New York, especially all the exceptional people who make up the Hiscock & Barclay team, who are family to me. Hiscock & Barclay, particularly my mentor Ambassador H. Douglas Barclay, did so much to help make Mosaic the effective regional and national advocate for organizations and causes important to Central New York and the United States."
Mosaic Federal Affairs LLC, headquartered in Syracuse, represents clients seeking federal and state governmental affairs advice and assistance particularly for matters dealing with project-enabling legislation, energy policy and tax matters and federal and state agency project awards including applied research and development.
"We congratulate Michael on his appointment and we congratulate ACORE for recognizing in Michael the qualities that have proven so successful for Mosaic's clients," said Hiscock & Barclay Managing Partner John P. Langan. "We wish him all the best in Washington."
