Barclay Damon Welcomes Lawyer and Strategic Business Advisor With Strong Major Market Ties

Barclay Damon announces the addition of Rafi Jafri as of counsel in the firm’s New York City office. Jafri brings longstanding relationships with key leaders in major market cities as well as experience working with top business leaders and government officials, strategically advising and guiding clients through complex legal, business, and political challenges.

Jafri has worked in the highest positions of politics and business and leverages his skills in strategic and operational consulting and planning, relationship building, fundraising, politics, public affairs, and business development as well as the relationships he has formed throughout his career to benefit Barclay Damon’s clients. His wealth of experience gained through serving in influential roles within political circles across the country for over a decade has given him a unique perspective, allowing him to craft innovative solutions for clients. Previously in his career, Jafri was a practicing attorney in Illinois.

“Joining Barclay Damon provides my clients access to the full-spectrum legal services the firm is known for,” said Jafri. “I’m excited to collaborate with my new colleagues to ensure my existing and new clients receive best-in-class service.”

“Barclay Damon’s regional and national clients will benefit from Rafi’s extensive experience providing strategic business guidance as well as his deep connections in the business and political arenas in New Jersey and the New York City metro area,” said David Burch, co-chair of Barclay Damon’s White Collar & Government Investigations Practice Area.

Dan French, former US attorney and co-chair of Barclay Damon’s White Collar & Government Investigations Practice Area with Burch, said, “Rafi is a great addition to the firm. He has an unparalleled ability to develop functional strategies that are tailored to clients’ specific needs.” He continued, “His existing client base, unique insights, and wealth of experience in the business realm will be instrumental in helping firm clients achieve their organizations’ long-term goals.”

“We’re looking forward to adding Rafi’s deep experience to Barclay Damon,” said Lizz Acee, managing director of Barclay Damon’s major market offices. “Rafi’s background in politics, fundraising, finance, and business will bring invaluable insight to our clients looking for forward thinking guidance on the potential impact of current issues on their business strategies.”

Jafri added, “Barclay Damon’s commitment to working with not-for-profit clients, especially in a pro bono capacity, was an appealing factor in my decision to join the firm. I have a real passion for giving back to my community and want to continue that in my new role.” He continued, “I’m looking forward applying my background in fundraising and working with not-for-profit organizations to foster lasting relationships with community partners that are important to the firm as well as participating in other diversity, equity, and inclusion activities at the firm.”
