Barclay Damon Recruits Accomplished Labor and Employment Litigator Lee Jacobs to New York City Office

Barclay Damon announces Lee Jacobs, partner, has joined Barclay Damon’s Labor & Employment Practice Area and Hotels, Hospitality & Food Service and Cannabis Teams. His primary office location is New York City.

Jacobs is a seasoned trial attorney and litigator who focuses his labor and employment practice on representing a wide variety of individual and corporate clients in complex matters in both state and federal court. He is highly skilled at helping individuals and businesses navigate employment, business, and personal litigation through providing day-to-day counseling on employment-related matters. Jacobs also offers value-add services, including training sessions, webinars, and educational seminars, to his clients.

In addition to his legal practice, Jacobs is an adjunct professor of law at Brooklyn Law School and is a faculty advisor to the school’s Moot Court Honor Society’s Trial Advocacy Division.

Prior to joining Barclay Damon, Jacobs was managing partner and chair of the Employment Practices Group at a New York City boutique firm focused on the legal and licensing needs of the hospitality and cannabis industries. Jacobs was a key player in growing the firm’s New York office during the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in the Employment Practices Group’s growth from one to five professionals.

“I am thrilled to be joining Barclay Damon’s large and growing Labor & Employment Practice Area and tapping into the know-how of the attorneys on the firm’s Hotels, Hospitality & Food Service and Cannabis Teams,” Jacobs said. “I look forward to providing my contacts and clients with seamless access to a variety of important capabilities and to hundreds of talented attorneys and non-attorney professionals across Barclay Damon’s office platform.”

Rosemary Enright, Labor & Employment Practice Group leader, said, “Lee’s niche experience with labor and employment matters in the restaurant and hospitality industries is a major benefit to not only the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group but also the Hotels, Hospitality & Food Service Team. Additionally, his experience heading up his previous firm’s Employment Practices Group will no doubt make him a great leader and mentor at Barclay Damon.”

Lizz Acee, partner and managing director of the firm’s major market offices in Boston, New Haven, and New York City, said, “Having Lee join us is yet another success for our initiative to strategically expanding our major markets offices. In just the last six months, Barclay Damon has added seven attorneys in its New York City office. These attorneys come from a variety of backgrounds and have a wide array of experience across several different areas of the law, allowing the firm to provide a broad range of services to clients in the New York City market and throughout our office platform.”

Barclay Damon attorneys team across offices and practices to provide customized, targeted solutions grounded in industry knowledge and a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses. With nearly 300 attorneys, Barclay Damon is a leading law firm that operates from a strategic platform of offices located in the Northeastern United States and Toronto.
