Barclay Damon Adds Corporate Attorney Dave Amidon From Armstrong Teasdale

Barclay Damon announces Dave Amidon has joined Barclay Damon. Amidon, a corporate attorney and business executive, joins the firm’s Corporate Practice Area. His primary office location is Boston.

Amidon is a deeply experienced corporate attorney and represents a variety of business clients in a wide range of industries. He focuses on corporate governance counseling; contracts negotiation, drafting, and review; executive compensation planning; and general business matters and counseling. He also has a diverse transactional practice working with management, investors, and advisors focusing on structuring, negotiating, and documenting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, strategic alliances, combinations, and joint ventures; venture capital financing; and public and private debt and equity offerings.

Amidon said, “My unique experience as a business executive underscores my commitment to building and managing cross-functional and multi-level relationships and supporting my clients’ long-term goals.” He continued, “By joining Barclay Damon, my clients will gain access to a wide variety of practice areas, including Canada-US Cross-Border, Data Security & Technology, Financial Institutions & Lending, and Hotels, Hospitality & Food Service, to name a few, which will keep the door open for strategic business growth.”

“To the benefit of our clients, the firm and I share key values: the importance of thought leadership, teamwork to identify and solve complex legal and business challenges, using data to generate valuable solutions, and thinking critically to be true partners,” he added. “I look forward to introducing my clients to my new colleagues at Barclay Damon.”

Connie Cahill, Barclay Damon’s managing partner, said, “Dave’s decades of experience with general corporate law, business transactions, and corporate finance is a major benefit for the firm’s Business Services Practice Group. We have a number of highly skilled practitioners in this group, and Dave’s background will no doubt be of interest to them and the firm’s existing clients. We’re thrilled to have Dave on our team!”

Jeff Dove, leader of the firm’s Business Services Practice Group, said, “We’re greatly looking forward to working with Dave. His wide-ranging corporate experience will benefit clients in our other major market offices in New York City and New Haven and in Upstate New York. We know he’ll be a fantastic leader and mentor to Barclay Damon’s attorneys.”

Amidon added, “One of the most exciting parts about joining Barclay Damon is the firm’s commitment to building and maintaining a diverse workforce. You see representation at every level at the firm, from senior partners to administrative staff. The firm has done a great job growing its major-market offices, and it’s a real competitor in those cities. I’m glad to be among the ranks of such skilled attorneys.”
