Barclay Damon Achieves 100-Percent Pro Bono Participation by Attorneys for Eighth Consecutive Year

In 2024, all of Barclay Damon’s full-time attorneys and paralegals provided pro bono legal services to low-income individuals in need of legal assistance and organizations serving those who seek access to justice. Barclay Damon has achieved 100-percent participation by our full-time attorneys every year since 2017.

“Barclay Damon is deeply committed to our core values, which include providing outstanding pro bono service in our communities. For our approximately 300 attorneys to maintain 100-percent pro bono service for eight consecutive years is an accomplishment that makes us proud,” said Jen Leonardi, Barclay Damon’s pro bono partner. “We’re able to meet this goal each year because our dedicated attorneys, paralegals, and other professional staff are truly passionate about serving those in need in our communities.”

Through the firm’s multi-award-winning pro bono program, Barclay Damon dedicated over 2,800 hours of time valued at more than $1.2 million to pro bono efforts in 2024, with attorneys and paralegals actively participating in firm-sponsored family court clinics, litigating civil rights violations, drafting wills for veterans, assisting with clemency applications, taking part in transgender name-change clinics, and providing online legal aid through initiatives such as the American Bar Association’s Free Legal Answers program. The firm’s investment in communities across its platform supported legal matters involving critical issues that included immigration, housing, women’s rights, prisoners’ rights, community building, economic development, and numerous others.

“Under Jen Leonardi’s excellent leadership and tapping into the commitment and talents of our attorneys and paralegals, reaching our goal of 100 percent participation was a true team effort, one that we remain committed to achieving again in 2025 and going forward,” said Connie Cahill, managing partner. “The many challenges of our current times can present significant hardships to members of our communities who can’t afford the representation they need, and we’re honored and enthusiastic to roll up our sleeves to help them get the justice they deserve.”

Barclay Damon attorneys team across offices and practices to provide customized, targeted solutions grounded in industry knowledge and a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses. With approximately 300 attorneys, Barclay Damon is a leading regional law firm that operates from a strategic platform of offices in Albany, Boston, Buffalo, New Haven, New York City, Rochester, Syracuse, Washington DC, and Toronto.
