Yvonne Hennessey, Environmental Practice Area chair, was quoted in the Newsday article “Las Vegas Sands Environmental Review Advances in Hampstead, Despite Court Ruling,” regarding the environmental review for the proposed $4 billion Las Vegas Sands casino resort at the site of the Nassau Coliseum. The environmental study, required under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), moves forward despite a lawsuit between the county and Hofstra University.
Yvonne said, “The town can do its SEQRA review and the lawsuit should not impact that. That decision has nothing to do with the town. That’s a lawsuit against the county.”
