Tim Green Featured in ALS News Today Article on Living With ALS

Tim Green, of counsel, was interviewed for the ALS News Today article “Former NFL Player Tim Green Won’t Let ALS Define Him” about living with ALS, his career as an author, and his work with Tackle ALS.

About coping with ALS, Tim said, “In one way, it’s excruciating. But I’ve had such a rich life that I have taken to reliving different moments from all the best experiences in my mind. And they are so vivid that I can actually taste a glass of my favorite red wine or feel myself plunge into the lake on a hot day.”

Tim also spoke to ALS News Today about his latest book, Final Season. He explained that the book is written from the perspective of his then 12-year-old son Ty and how he coped with Tim’s ALS diagnosis and symptoms over the course of his final season playing football. Tim is currently working on a memoir. He said, “It’s about the times I had near-misses with fame. . . . These stories are interspersed with snapshots of my ALS story from my perspective.”

Tackle ALS is Tim’s not-for-profit organization that raises money for ALS research at the Sean M. Healey and AMG Center for ALS at Massachusetts General Hospital. “Most of the money has come from friends, whether by their own contributions or from fundraising,” Tim said. “I really appreciate the people who don’t know me but want to simply fight the disease.”
