The Advocate: "What's the Hub-Bub?: Improved Efficiencies Could Be Costly to Pharmacies Not Conducting Due Diligence"

Linda Clark, Health Care Controversies team leader, had her “What’s the Hub-Bub?: Improved Efficiencies Could Be Costly to Pharmacies Not Conducting Due Diligence” article published in the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy’s member newsletter, the Advocate. The article explored the integral nature of hub service providers for the delivery of patients’ specialty medication.

Linda article provided a brief history on hubs, foundational elements of hub models, and services hubs provide, among other key information. She also advised, “Pharmacies seeking to do business with hubs need to carefully assess whether the services being provided by the hub comply with legal and contractual requirements.” Linda continued, “In sum, hubs may streamline services and improve patient experience; however, pharmacies should not blindly be entering agreements that contain terms that result in violations of law, breaches of other contractual agreements, or do not make economic sense.”
