Ray McCabe Honored With BAEC's Rev. A. Joseph Bissonette Pro Bono Award

Ray McCabe, partner, was selected to receive the Rev. A. Joseph Bissonette Pro Bono Award as part of the Bar Association of Erie County’s Law Day Awards. Ray and the other honorees were presented with their awards at the 2023 Law Day Luncheon.

The Rev. A. Joseph Bissonette Pro Bono Award honors the memory of Father Bissonette, who received the Liberty Bell Award posthumously in 1987. Created through the generosity of Raymond Bissonette, Father Bissonette’s brother, the award recognizes and memorializes Father Bissonette’s life’s work with the inner city poor and his commitment to social justice. The award recognizes a lawyer’s dedication to pro bono over the course of their career.

Ray was selected for this special recognition for his extraordinary commitment to providing pro bono legal services to those in need in our community. His nomination from the Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc. stated, “Ray is a committed, compassionate volunteer who believes pro bono is a natural part of practicing law. We are so fortunate to be associated with him and are thrilled that he plans to continue pro bono work for the remainder of his impactful career.”

Congratulations on receiving this well-deserved award, Ray!
