Chris Shaw Featured in Law360 Article About Joining Barclay Damon

Chris Shaw, partner, was featured in the Law360 article “Ex-Medicaid Fraud Director Joins Barclay Damon in NYC” about pivoting from his career in government to join Barclay Damon’s New York City office.

Most recently, Chris was the regional director of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit within New York’s Office of the Attorney General. At Barclay Damon, he is a member of the firm’s Health Care Controversies Team, White Collar & Government Investigations Practice Area, and Health & Human Services Providers Team.

About choosing to join Barclay Damon, Chris said, “In my experience, the people at Barclay Damon were always very impressive, well-prepared, and easy to work with. I was also drawn to the fact that the firm takes a multidisciplinary approach to the way it addresses clients’ needs along with their commitment to growing in major markets.”

The article notes that Chris chose to transition to private practice to “work on a more general health care practice, helping clients who are in compliance, not just entities who run afoul of the law.”

Chris added, regarding his decision to move to private practice, “I was looking for a new opportunity and a new way to both serve and expand on my skill set. It grew to the point within government service where I wanted to take the things that I learned and knowledge I acquired and apply it in a different way.”
