Barclay Damon has a long, successful history of combinations with firms seeking to provide their clients with seamless access to attorneys who are among the most prominent in their fields, including in areas such as energy, tax, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, public finance, health care, labor and employment, and others.

For over two decades, Barclay Damon has been successfully pursuing a disciplined expansion strategy throughout its platform of offices in major and smaller markets. In addition to a major combination with Washington DC–based Shapiro, Lifshitz & Schram in January 2024, some of the firm’s recent deal history includes the addition of 20 lawyers from LeClairRyan, the addition of seven wealth management planning and elder law attorneys from Lacy Katzen LLP, a combination with the 14-attorney bankruptcy firm Menter, Rudin & Trivelpiece, PC, and the addition of the 11-attorney energy-environmental firm Gilberti Stinziano Heintz & Smith, PC. The 65-lawyer Damon Morey LLP combined with the 210-lawyer Hiscock & Barclay in 2015, resulting in the name change to Barclay Damon LLP. 

Strategic combinations like these allow us to add continued depth and experience to our service offerings, providing the most comprehensive legal assistance to our clients. Our robust lateral-recruitment program, focusing on successfully onboarding and integrating talented lawyers, has driven our growth from 50 to approximately 300 attorneys over the last two decades.
