Barclay Damon Partner Joseph Finnerty Honored by Investigative Post
October 27, 2017—Joseph M. Finnerty, chair of Barclay Damon’s Media & First Amendment Law Practice Area, has been honored by the Investigative Post for his contributions to journalism and his support for the publication.
The tribute to Joe was held during the Investigative Post’s gala dinner celebration, October 19 at the Hyatt Regency in Buffalo. As part of the ceremony, Joe presented remarks about his longtime representation of journalists and his admiration for their work. Joe was introduced by Karim A. Abdulla, special counsel at Barclay Damon, and followed by keynote speaker Sarah Cohen, a Pultizer Prize-winning New York Times editor.
Joe has more than 30 years of experience representing news media organizations in all aspects of news gathering and dissemination, First Amendment issues, and defamation defense. He also represents clients in high-profile commercial litigation cases.
