Barclay Damon, LLP Makes Move to Newly Renamed Barclay Damon Tower

SYRACUSE, NY — October 13, 2016 — Barclay Damon, LLP is pleased to announce that Onondaga Tower, located at 125 East Jefferson Street in Syracuse, will officially become Barclay Damon Tower on Monday October 17, 2016. The new building name becomes official when Barclay Damon, LLP, a 275-lawyer super-regional law firm, moves its Syracuse office and more than 150 personnel into 50,000 sq. ft. of the newly renovated building.

The illuminated signage on all four sides of the building made its debut on August 9, 2016 changing the city skyline and signaling the firm’s commitment to downtown Syracuse. Barclay Damon will occupy five floors of the 15-story building. Among the many innovative components of the new floor plan are large and less-formal work areas, including a 3,400 sq. ft. multi-media café designed to spark greater collaboration; more outdoor space in the form of a 2,000 sq. ft. 15th story rooftop terrace scheduled for completion in time for summer use, in 2017; convenient parking inside the building for clients and employees; and use of glass throughout, so all 150-plus attorneys and staff enjoy natural light and views of the downtown skyline from their work areas.

“Design decisions were centered around achieving greater exploration, engagement, and energy among our workforce,” John P. Langan, managing partner, said, adding that “we have been experiencing continued growth most notably in the areas of intellectual property with high profile patent trial successes, an expanded health care platform and the energy industry, including nation-wide renewable transactions, pipeline siting and real property matters. We look forward to the next decade to see a new generation of lawyers and clients leveraging technology and working more collaboratively. We are listening to our clients and our younger legal talent to build office space reflecting those changes.”

Langan adds, “We believe the strength of our community is dependent on the vitality of downtown Syracuse, and are proud to continue as a corporate citizen of the city by remaining downtown, which has been our home for more than a century.”

Using the most current design materials and mechanics, the space will boast an eye-catching two-story reception atrium, flanked by glass conference rooms with views and natural light for client meetings and presentations. With the press of a button the walls can recede and instantly establish a 2,200 sq. ft. venue for client events and other social gatherings.
