Pharmacy Overcomes Challenge From Regulators
A specialty pharmacy that serves the chronically and terminally ill community faced the threat of crippling withholding by the state following an audit by the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General.
Our attorneys challenged the audit procedure and findings, including numbers that were based on extrapolations, not actual evidence. That challenge resulted in a court-ordered temporary restraining order that led to negotiations. The end result was a modest settlement for an amount that was a fraction of the original findings. The pharmacy was able to continue to operate and serve its clients.
