After extensive discovery and motion practice, the Firm successfully negotiated a consent decree to resolve a lawsuit commenced by the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC") in the United States District Court for the Western District of New York on behalf of a class of current and former African-American employees of a large commercial roofing contractor. The case, in which the EEOC ultimately identified 77 claimants on whose behalf it sought relief, involved claims of race discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
