Firm Advising Telecommunication Company to Successfully Earn State Lifeline Designations
A national telecommunications provider sought state and federal Eligible Telecommunications (ETC) status, which would allow it to provide “lifeline” service to low income and other needy residents in large portions of New York state.
Our attorneys helped with the initial application, the development of filings and tariffs and facilitated meetings with the Department of Public Service. We monitored legislative and Public Service Commission developments. We recently applied for and received waivers of Commission regulations that will streamline business requirements to make it easier for the company to serve lifeline customers and receive state and federal lifeline subsidies.
