BARCLAY DAMON TEAM REPRESENTS ATLAS HOLDINGS IN THE REPOWERING OF A DEFUNCT POWER PLANT
A multi-disciplinary team with expertise in environmental, regulatory, real estate and land use, led by Kevin R. McAuliffe, chair of Barclay Damon’s Project Development Practice Area, represented Atlas Holdings in the complicated process of purchasing and re-powering a defunct coal plant into a clean-energy producer. The project involved the conversion of the plant from coal to natural gas and biomass as well as the siting of a new natural gas pipeline. With Barclay Damon’s expertise, our client succeeded in obtaining the necessary approvals from state and federal agencies—including the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, the New York State Public Service Commission, the US Environmental Protection Agency, the US Fish & Wildlife Service and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
